The Mysterious Crystal Skull

The crystal skulls are a number of human skull hardstone carvings made of clear or milky quartz rock, known in art history as “rock crystal”, claimed to be pre-Columbian Mesoamerican artifacts by their alleged finders. However, none of the specimens made available for scientific study have been authenticated as pre-Columbian in origin. The results of these studies demonstrated that those examined were manufactured in the mid-19th century or later, almost certainly in Europe. There are 4 such skulls, The British Museum Skull, The Smithsonian Skull, The Paris Skull and The Mitchell-Hedges Skull. The one shown above is the Mitchell-Hedges Skull and is said to have carved out of one single naturally occurring quartz stone. Its supposedly hand crafted and used to take more then 600 years to carve one such stone. And we have been told that it was made by man without any knowledge transfer from a higher source.
